For Andrew McCauley, it all started in pubs. The Aussie native worked for 17 years as a marketer for pubs, where he realized his passion for marketing. ?It was a challenge but there was instant notification of whether your marketing was working or not,? Andrew says. ?If you?ve got a roomful of staff sitting around and no customers, you knew your marketing sucked.?

He eventually started his own consulting business in 2006 and soon realized the impact that Facebook could have with online marketing. When subsequent social media sites cropped up, Andrew became an expert on those as well and began to travel the world, helping small people better leverage social media as a way to market their businesses online.

Working now as a social media consultant, Andrew helps his clients transition their traditional marketing strategy to the online world of social media. One of Andrew?s cornerstones of his social media strategy is the landing page. ?It?s a simple one-page website that basically gives an offer to somebody in exchange for his email address and sometimes his name,? Andrew says. ?What that does is it gets him onto your list. A lot of our biggest work right now is all about funnel and strategy.??

In this episode you?ll learn:

  • How to know when to do it yourself and when to outsource
  • How to effectively package and market your product
  • How to establish an effective landing page
  • The best ways to get people to sign up for your email list
  • An email strategy to turn those opt-ins into purchases
  • Which social media sites to use to get the results you?re looking for
  • How to maximize your time on social media (and make sure you don?t spend too much time there)
  • What to do to get conversions
  • How to create a sales funnel using social media
  • Insider info on the future of text marketing
  • How to automate your social media marketing

Once you have established an email list, you have created a funnel that provides you with a group of people to whom you can market your product. If you can build a relationship with people using an email list and establish yourself as an expert in a particular field, they will be more likely to buy from you down the road.
